Ray Carroll

GTM Advisor

Ray has spent 15+ years building and scaling revenue engines for venture-backed SaaS companies — moving from account executive to VP of Sales and CRO, joining companies early and expanding scope as the business scaled. His approach pairs strategic thinking with hands-on execution, so clients know not just what to do, but how to do it.

Mission

Every CEO deserves a trusted advisor who can help them navigate the complexities of go-to-market — without adding a full-time executive salary and incentive plan to the cost structure. That’s why I built RC Ventures: to give founders senior GTM judgment exactly when they need it, and not a headcount longer.

Career summary

Ray is a go-to-market executive with more than fifteen years building revenue engines for high-growth, venture-backed SaaS companies. He has progressed from early-career account executive to VP of Sales and Chief Revenue Officer, joining companies early and expanding scope across Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Success as the business scaled.

He has helped grow companies through their hardest inflection points — taking Marketo from early stage to IPO, scaling Engagio through its acquisition, and driving material ARR expansion at Skilljar and Tapcart. He designs practical GTM systems, hires and develops high-performing teams, and aligns revenue strategy tightly with product and market reality.

As an advisor and angel investor, Ray works with founders and leadership teams to diagnose growth constraints, sharpen positioning, and build durable revenue models that hold up beyond short-term tactics. He is a direct, disciplined operator who values clarity, accountability, and results.
